Alien Greenhouse
Alien Greenhouse shows an unnatural take on nature, with saturated colors and neon lighting showcasing a flower with more than a few human traits.
The environment has many material fx, including a pulsing eye and a color changing ceiling. The glowingblue smudges surrounding the mouths come from vertex painting in the engine.
Models were made using Maya and SpeedTree, textures were made in Adobe Substance, and renders were done in Unreal Engine.

Vines, tree foliage, and eye images were modified from adobe stock
Unique Models and Material FX

By now, I had started to finish up some models in speed tree ut had yet to impliment them. I had also started assembling everything that was ready and making sure the materials and fx were together.
This image had some lighting passes but I hadn't used vertex painting and decals to make the area pop yet!
This is the flower! The green in the meat was supposed to imply the plant hybrid nature of the creature, and I had also added the mouths based off of a venus flytrap to make it more menacing and further imply it's attack. While the textures are fairly rough, it was the lighting and modifications in engine thatmade it cohesive to the rest of the design.
This was the first materials test, and it ended up being much worse than I thought. I had been trying to understand how materials from another planet would look, but it had ended up being fake and oversaturateddue to the lack of real-world connections.
This was the inital greybox of the environment. The original plan was to use lighting from the top down to illuminate the greenhouse, and imply the flower had taken over what was once a place of research. The layout was planned to be relatively straightforward and draw extra focus to the flower in the middle as it's own potential character.
The odd keyhole shape of the doors was meant to become a UFO design though that was eventually scrapped for time!
